Raiders Have 11 Players On COVID-19 List

Nov 19, 2020 9:44 AM

The Las Vegas Raiders have placed seven more players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, bringing the number to 11 ahead of this weekend's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We practiced today and we'll be ready for the game on Sunday," Jon Gruden said after an initial report said "nearly the entire Raiders starting defense" was going on the list.

"It's what you have to do. Everybody has to adapt to a lot of things in every phase of life. We had to go through some things before. We'll be there on Sunday and we'll be prepared. We're excited to compete."

Safety Johnathan Abram, defensive tackles Maliek Collins, Johnathan Hankins and Kendal Vickers, defensive end Arden Key, cornerback Isaiah Johnson and practice-squad defensive end David Irving went on the list as high-risk close contacts a day after defensive end Clelin Ferrell and defensive back Lamarcus Joyner went on the list.

Ferrell went on the list after a positive test.

Raiders Fined $500,000, Lose Draft Pick Over COVID Violations

Nov 6, 2020 2:18 PM

The Las Vegas Raiders have been fined $500,000 and stripped of a 2021 sixth-round pick by the NFL for what one source described as "brazen and repeated violations of [COVID-19] protocols."

In addition, Jon Gruden has been fined $150,000.

The Raiders have already been docked $250,000 and Gruden $100,000 for his not wearing a mask properly during the team's Week 2 game. They were also fined an additional $50,000 for allowing a non-credentialed employee access to the locker room following that game.

Las Vegas has been warned more than once about specific violations but those violations have continued in spite of the warnings. More severe penalties could follow if there are further violations, according to sources.

Raiders' Trent Brown Hospitalized After IV Mishap

Nov 2, 2020 9:18 AM

Trent Brown was hospitalized prior to the Las Vegas Raiders' 16-6 win over the Cleveland Browns after an incident involving an IV.

The tackle had air enter his bloodstream and it required immediate medical attention.

Brown, who recently came off of the team's reserve-COVID-19 list, tested positive for the virus less than two weeks ago. Prior to the mishap, Brown was set to start for the Raiders.

"We're just going to say that he got ill here in the locker room and he's being evaluated right now," Jon Gruden said.  "We'll update you as soon as we know something. But I'm told everything is OK. We were expecting Trent to play today; he had a great practice on Friday."
