There have been rumors that the New York Giants could trade Saquon Barkley, but John Mara is putting those to bed.

"We're not shopping Saquon, but Joe [Schoen's] the general manager," Mara said. "If he and the head coach want to make a personnel decision and have a conviction about it, I'm not gonna interfere with it. But that's not something we're actively looking to do, let's put it that way."

During the NFL Scouting Combine, reports suggested the Giants had discussed potentially moving on from Barkley. 

The New York Giants have added a quarterback.

They've agreed to terms on a two-year, $17 million deal with Tyrod Taylor, according to a source.

The deal includes $8.5 million in guaranteed money.

Sterling Shepard is returning to the New York Giants on a reworked one-year deal, according to a source.

The wide receiver is New York's longest-tenured player.

Shepard, 29, was set to make $8.5 million in the 2022 season coming off a torn Achilles in his left leg.

Teams have been inquiring with the New York Giants about a possible trade for Evan Engram, according to a report.

According to sources, teams are looking at Engram as an option at both tight end and a slot wide receiver.

The past two years, Engram spent most of his snaps in the slot -- 362 snaps in the slot in 2021; 345 in 2020.

The New York Giants may be a suitor for Mitch Trubisky in free agency.

According to a report, the Giants could sign Trubisky to compete with Daniel Jones at quarterback.

New York hired Brian Daboll away from the Buffalo Bills earlier this offseason. Daboll worked with Trubisky this past season.

The New York Giants are open to trading Saquon Barkley this offseason.

Joe Schoen was hired as general manager this offseason. Schoen has a history of being open to major trades from his time with the Buffalo Bills.

Because Barkley has been injured over the past few seasons, his trade value is not as high as it would otherwise be and that makes the Giants less likely to deal him.

The Giants and Barkley are more likely to resolve their situation after the 2022 season through a trade or a new contract.
