Michael Strahan hasn't decided whether or not he'll retire this summer, but he is sure that he doesn't want the Giants to trade Jeremy Shockey, according to the New York Daily News.
In the hours leading up to the first round of the draft on Saturday, Strahan said that the team would be "crazy" to deal the tight end.
"Of course I want him back. I love him," Strahan said Saturday morning. "He's a great teammate, great player, a hard worker."
Strahan isn't buying into the belief that the Giants wouldn't have won the Super Bowl with Shockey on the field (he broke his leg in Week Fourteen).
"I think because he gets hurt and we got to the Super Bowl, everyone feels like, in a way, great season, thank God he got hurt," Strahan said. "That's just unfair. I think with him we're a better team without a doubt. I would be surprised if Shockey is not here. Then again, nothing surprises me."

Patriots, Saints Swap First Rounders
The Saints and Patriots swapped first round picks on Saturday, with New Orleans receiving the seventh overall selection and New England dropping down to tenth.
In addition, the Patriots received a third rounder from the Saints and shipped a fifth round pick to New Orleans to complete the trade.
The Saints selected defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis.
Sources: Saints, Shockey Trade Hits A Delay
The Saints' apparent deal for Jeremy Shockey has hit a delay because of the Giants' demand for more than a No. 2 draft pick, ESPN's John Clayton reports.
The Saints have been debating offering a No. 2 pick, according to sources, but some in the organization would prefer including no more than a No. 3 pick.
Saints 'Desperately' Want Dorsey?
New Orleans ?desperately? wants Glenn Dorsey, according to a Saints source Jeff Risdon of RealGM talked with recently. That would probably require a move to #2 overall, and that probably means next year?s #1 will be needed.
The word ?probably? is emphasized because the Rams are still undecided at #2 and the Falcons at #3 are a wild card as well.
Saints Explore Trading Up In Draft
The Saints are entertaining the idea of trading up in this month's draft, according to the NFL Network.
New Orleans has had discussions with St. Louis about the second pick in the draft, but it is uncertain what the Rams would want in return.
The Saints are looking to add a veteran defensive player.
Source: McAllister Will Return To Saints
Saints' running back Deuce McAllister, coming off a second knee surgery, will remain with the team for at least one more season.
A member of the team with knowledge of the contract negotiations confirmed the agreement to The Associated Press on Monday night. The person did not want to be named because the team hasn?t made an official announcement.
Reggie Bush Eyes MVP Season
Saints running back Reggie Bush is looking to have a season even with that of Hornets' point guard Chris Paul in terms of MVP consideration, according to the Advocate.
"Now I?ve got to come and have an equal or better year," Bush said. "I?ve got to get the crowd chanting MVP."
Whether or not Bush can achieve that, it's clear that he's looking forward to having a breakout season.
"Last season I was injured more than I had ever been injured in my whole career," Bush said recently. "It was hard to stay on top of staying explosive and strong in the weight room when you?re constantly rehabbing every week."
"It was a little different year. Hopefully I can stay healthy throughout the year, throughout the season and still keep myself in shape physically and up to par," he added.
Saints Interested In Shockey
Eli Manning is hoping Jeremy Shockey is a member of the Giants next season.
"When I have talked to him I said I am excited about this season and what we can become as a team and our connection," said Manning. "I don't think we have reached our potential in the tandem that we can become. The thing I am excited about is I see room for improvement in all areas.
"I hope he understands we would like him back," Manning continued. "He is a tremendous player and he helps our offense and our team out when he is out there."
The Saints are interested in trading for Shockey.
Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn
The Saints signed cornerback Aaron Glenn on Monday, hoping the 14-year veteran free agent can help shore up a shoddy pass defense, according to an Associated Press report.
Glenn, a former first-round pick who started four games for Jacksonville in 2007, has 41 career interceptions, six of them for touchdowns. He ranks fifth among active NFL players in interceptions.
Terms of the deal were not released.
