Chiefs rookie linebacker Cameron Sheffield has been released from the hospital after hurting his neck while making a tackle against the Eagles on Friday night. Kansas City said in a statement Saturday that Sheffield has movement in all his extremities. Trainers and coaches tended to Sheffield for several minutes before securing his body and lifting him into a cart.

Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was injured on Friday night against the Eagles. Charles took a short pass from Matt Cassel and was just going out of bounds when Philadelphia's Nate Allen pushed him out with a hit around the ankles. He seemed to be holding his right arm but it was not immediately clear where Charles was hurt. He rushed for 1,120 yards last season. ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that Charles simply hit his funny bone and is suffering from no injury at all.
