AP Won't Take Away Hub Arkush's MVP Vote

Jan 7, 2022 9:50 AM

The Associated Press won't strip Hub Arkush of his NFL MVP vote.

Arkush said earlier this week that he won't vote for Aaron Rodgers for MVP because he's the "biggest jerk in the league," along with other observations and factors unrelated to on-field or in-season performance.

In response, Rodgers called Arkush a "bum."

"We're not gonna throw out his ballot," Barry Wilner of the AP told the Chicago Sun-Times. Wilner has overseen the voting process for the organization's NFL awards for roughly three decades.

"For MVP, because the word 'valuable' is judgmental, it would be unfair and unwise for us to set any parameters for that award," Wilner said. "We can't tell people how to think about what they consider most valuable."

Jim Harbaugh Could Consider Return To NFL

Jan 5, 2022 10:16 AM

There are rumors coming from both the NFL and college football that Jim Harbaugh could have interest in leaving Michigan to return to the NFL.

“I think it’s real,” said one source this week when asked about the possibility of Harbaugh being interested in heading back to the NFL.

Harbaugh is coming off a season at Michigan in which he finally beat Ohio State and also led the team to the College Football Playoff.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears are a pair of jobs that might be of interest to Harbaugh.

In four years with the San Francisco 49ers, he went 44-19-1 and took San Francisco to a Super Bowl in his second year.
