Steve Smith escaped a serious scare when X-rays revealed no broken bones after Tampa Bay cornerback Elbert Mack hit his left wrist on the frantic final play of Carolina's 20-7 loss to Tampa Bay.
Smith broke the same wrist twice in the last nine months, last December in New York against the Giants and in June while playing flag football.
"Negatory," Smith replied when asked if the tests showed any damage.
"That's affirmative. Very," he said when asked if he was scared that wouldn't be the case. "Just a good little shot, facemask right into it, right into my wrist.
"I was pretty nervous, it just brought back memories. It's working, it's good. The x-rays, no break. I'm fine."

Matt Moore Likely To Start For Panthers
Matt Moore is expected to start at quarterback for the Panthers on Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Moore practiced on Thursday for the second straight day after suffering a concussion in Week 1.
"I feel good. That's where we're at," Moore said. "I'm planning and preparing [to start]. If something changes, so be it."
Clausen Could Start In Week 2
Panthers rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen could make his first professional start this coming weekend.
Matt Moore suffered a concussion on his final play against the Giants on Sunday, according to Carolina head coach John Fox.
The NFL has strict rules on returning from a concussion, which makes Moore questionable at best for Sunday's tilt with Tampa Bay.
