NFL's 32 Teams Collectively Worth $99 Billion

Aug 26, 2020 1:29 PM

The average NFL franchise is worth more than $3 billion, according to data compiled by Sportico.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL at $6.43 billion with the Cincinnati Bengals ranking last at $2.12 billion.

The fair-market value of the NFL's 32 franchises collectively is $99 billion when considering team-related businesses and real estate held by owners.

The teams’ $15.83 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year, which represents the 2019 season, was greater than that of 298 companies on the Fortune 500. That averages to about $495 million per team.

In 2019, the Cowboys generated an estimated $871 million in revenue, which was 81% greater than the average of the other 31 teams.

Falcons Plan To Give Todd Gurley 15-25 Touches Per Game

Aug 26, 2020 1:09 PM

The Atlanta Falcons have a set number of touches they want to give Todd Gurley this season.

"I think a minimum of 15 touches and a high of (25)," Dirk Koetter said. "But you've got to realize we've got a lot of guys that need touches. You're going to have 64 plays in a game on average on offense. Depending on where you're at in the season and wear and tear, I think the low is 15 and maybe the high end 25.

"Some of that depends on score and where you're at in the game. Are you ahead and running it? Are you getting in four-minute, and how are you running the ball that week? There's a lot of factors in there. But again, the low end 15 and the high end 25."

Gurley received 254 touches for the Los Angeles Rams last season, the lowest total since his rookie season (2015).

Falcons Have Had $42.9M In Defaults On PSLs Since 2016

Aug 25, 2020 11:19 AM

The Atlanta Falcons have had $42.9 million in defaults on their personal seat licenses since 2016.

During the 12-month period through June, fans walked away from another $10.9 million in PSLs.

The PSLs are fees, often paid in installments over multiple years, for the right to buy Falcons season tickets in a particular seat for as long as the team plays in the stadium.

Most of the defaults through June 30th occurred in January and February before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of those who provided the team a reason for defaulting, 77% cited financial, health or relocation issues.

About 7,000 Falcons season-ticket account holders have defaulted on their seat licenses since 2016, records show.

Seat-license proceeds go toward the cost of building the $1.5 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Falcons Sign Darqueze Dannard After Deal With Jaguars Falls Through

Aug 3, 2020 11:06 AM

The Atlanta Falcons have signed Darqueze Dannard on a one-year deal.

Dennard was a first round pick in 2014.

In March, Dennard had agreed to a three-year, $13.5 million contract ($6 million guaranteed) with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the two sides reached an impasse on the details.

Dennard was one of the Bengals' most effective defensive backs in 2019.
