Vick Says He Settled For 'Mediocrity' In Atlanta
Michael Vick has admitted that he didn't work as hard as he could have during his tenure with the Falcons.
Vick played in Atlanta from 2001 to 2006.
The quarterback joined "Mayhem in the AM" on 790 the Zone in Atlanta on Wednesday and revealed that he never truly gave 100 percent as a Falcon.
"I think if I woulda applied myself," Vick said, "there was a lot more I could have done off the field and also in the film room that could have elevated my game to a totally different level. I was complacent at the time, somewhat lazy, and I kinda settled for mediocrity."
Falcons Aren't Expected To Alter Spending
The NFL is headed towards an uncapped year, but the Falcons aren't expected to alter their spending habits.
Atlanta plans to continue building through the draft instead of placing a dependence on signing high-priced free agents.
"I think it's not really going to have an effect on us," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said of the uncapped year.
The Falcons spent about $6.5 million under the $127 million salary cap in 2009.
"We have a program that we've been following in building this roster," Blank said. "We are working through free agency, but primarily through the draft. We'll continue to do that."
