Falcons president Rich McKay said Friday the team wants a new stadium within seven years, but it doesn't appear the Georgia Dome is going away.
Frank Poe, the executive director of the Georgia World Congress Center which manages the Georgia Dome, said Friday that the facility may be renovated but it won't be torn down.
"If there is a second stadium we still have to keep the Georgia Dome in operation," Poe said.
The city views the Georgia Dome as too big a revenue producer to level it.

Turner Reports To Atlanta's Camp Lighter
Falcons running back Michael Turner has reported to camp visibly lighter.
"I'm still the same, it just looks different," Turner said. "I just moved it around a little bit to all the right places a little bit."
Turner has been working on a new diet.
"I've been here doing a little extra cardio," Turner said.
"I changed my eating habits a little bit. ... I've just really been staying on top of it this offseason because that's when you tend to eat more junk food and things like that. I'm just trying to get in the habit of eating healthy and get that conditioning part out of the way so I don?t have to worry about it later on."
