Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chiefs Agree To Three-Year, $30M Deal

Mar 24, 2022 10:11 PM

Marquez Valdes-Scantling has signed a three-year, $30 million deal worth up to $36 million with the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Wednesday, the Chiefs traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks.

For the Packers, it's another wide receiver the team will have to replace after trading star wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders last week.

After playing in every game over his first three seasons, Valdes-Scantling missed six games last season: five because of a hamstring injury and one because of COVID-19. That limited him to just 26 catches (tying a career low) for 430 yards (a career low) and three touchdowns.

Za'Darius Smith, Vikings Agree To Three-Year, $42M Deal

Mar 22, 2022 3:31 PM

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to sign Za'Darius Smith to a three-year, $42 million deal.

Last week, Smith backed off from an agreement with the Baltimore Ravenswhen he decided not to sign a four-year, $35 million deal. His decision paid off financially as his new deal with the Vikings will average $14 million per season compared with the $8.75 million average he would have been paid by the Ravens.

Smith was released by the Green Bay Packers as they try to get under the salary cap.

Smith, who was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons with the Packers (2019 and 2020) and was a second-team All-Pro in 2020, played only 18 snaps in the 2021 regular season.
