The Minnesota Vikings and Harrison Smith have agreed to a four-year, $64 million contract extension.

It makes Smith the second-highest paid safety in the NFL.

Smith said all offseason that his goal was to remain in Minnesota. He was heading into the final year of the five-year extension he signed with the team in 2016.

Robby Anderson and the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a two-year extension worth $29.5 million.

Anderson's deal includes $20.5 million in guaranteed money.

Anderson caught 95 balls for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns last season.

The Atlanta Falcons are signing Josh Rosen to replace AJ McCarron, who tore his right ACL in the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game.

Rosen will compete with Feleipe Franks as the backup to Matt Ryan.

"It doesn't mean if we add someone this week, doesn't mean that we may not add another person next week," Arthur Smith said. "We'll continue to monitor that."

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to sign Everson Griffen.

From 2010 to 2019 with the Vikings, Griffen totaled 74.5 sacks, which ranks seventh in franchise history. He was named a Pro Bowler four times in Minnesota, including three straight seasons from 2015 to '17.

In February 2020, Griffen opted out of his contract and became a free agent. He signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys in August 2020 and was traded to the Detroit Lions two months later.

After five months of negotiations, the Seattle Seahawks have finally agreed to a contract extension with Jamal Adams.

The safety's mother pushed the deal through when she sent her son a text message Monday night from back home in Dallas.

"She said my full name, and when my mother says my full name, I think I need to pay attention," Adams said. "She gave me a nice little paragraph and basically just told me that you don't have to prove anything else to anybody. You did enough. We're happy. As long as my family's happy and I'm happy, I can come and do what I love to do, that's all that matters to me."

Adams can make as much as $72 million over four years under the new deal. He is now the NFL's highest-paid safety. He will receive a $20 million signing bonus and $38 million guaranteed.

Mychal Kendricks will sign with the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2021 season, according to a report.

He was recently sentenced to one day in jail and three years of probation for his 2018 guilty plea on insider trading charges.

Kendricks will provide depth at linebacker for the 49ers.

The Detroit Lions have signed cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman.

Detroit hosted the veteran for a workout prior to signing him. They also waived safety D'Angelo Amos.

The Lions needed help at cornerback with Quinton Dunbar out due to personal reasons and Corn Elder also sidelined with a leg injury.

The Indianapolis Colts and Darius Leonard have agreed to a five-year, $99.25 million contract extension.

Leonard will become the highest paid inside linebacker in the NFL.

Leonard will receive $52.5 million in guaranteed money.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have agreed to a six-year, $258 million contract extension with $150 million in guaranteed money.

Allen finished the 2020 season with 4,544 yards passing on a 69.2 completion percentage with 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions while also rushing for 421 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Bills selected Allen with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 draft out of Wyoming.

Gerald McCoy has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

McCoy, 33, drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft at No. 3 overall, is a six-time Pro Bowler. McCoy has also played with the Dallas Cowboys (2020) and Carolina Panthers (2019).
