DeMarco Murray Makes NFL History With 7th 100-Yard Game

Oct 20, 2014 1:58 AM

DeMarco Murray became the first running back in NFL history to rush for at least 100 yards in each of the first seven games of a season with his 128-yard performance against the New York Giants.

Murray is on pace for 2,086 yards, just behind the pace Eric Dickerson had in 1984.

"I think we did this as a group," Murray said, sprinkling around praise for his offensive line. "So it's hard for me to accept this individually, and I definitely wish those guys were here. But they're a huge part of this, [along with] the tight ends, the receivers, the entire coaching staff. But I definitely give a lot of credit to those guys, and I'm blessed to be mentioned with that, but there's a lot of hard work that needs to be done. It's a long season."

DeMarco Murray Has 43 More Carries Than Any Other Back In NFL

Oct 14, 2014 1:06 AM

DeMarco Murray has carried the ball 159 times over the first six games, 43 more than other running back in the NFL.

Murray's 159 rushes to begin the season are more than even the busiest six-game start during the career of Emmitt Smith, who had 150 carries in 1999 at the age of 30.

Murray ran the ball six times in the first quarter at the Seattle Seahawks, followed by eight in the second quarter, six in the third quarter and nine in the fourth.
