Ryan Matthews Injured In Two-Car Crash

Ryan Mathews suffered minor injuries on Monday evening when he was in a two-vehicle accident in San Diego. Mathews lost control of his BMW on Interstate 8. No drugs or alcohol are supsected of being involved in the accident.

Revis Sits Out Because Of Hamstring, Not Contract

Darrelle Revis missed most of practice on Sunday with what he called "a little tightness" in his right hamstring. His absence was not because of his desire for a new contract from the Jets. "I knew you were going to ask that question," the cornerback told a reporter. "Come on, it has nothing to do with it. If I didn't want to be here, I would've held out."

Nicks Still On Track For Mid-August Return

Hakeem Nicks has suffered no setbacks with his surgically repaired toe. The Giants wide receiver is still on schedule to return to practice sometime in mid-August. "Definitely," Nicks said when asked if his recovery is going as planned on Sunday. "No setbacks, everything is going the way we planned. Were just sticking to the things that doctors and trainers told us to do." "(Mid-August) sounds about right if that is what they are saying," Nicks added. "I am seeing the doctors day in and day out. Everything looks good about it."

Andre Johnson Hurts Groin

Andre Johnson left Sunday's practice with a pulled groin muscle, but Texans coach Gary Kubiak says the injury doesn't appear significant. Johnson missed nine games last season with hamstring injuries and was sidelined from the first organized team activities in the spring after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Mike Patterson To Miss Training Camp

The Eagles have ruled out Mike Patterson for training camp and possibly more because the incision where he had brain surgery in January hasn't fully healed. Patterson, placed on the non-football injury list Sunday, was diagnosed with a brain malformation last August after suffering a seizure during a training camp practice.

Lofa Tatupu will begin training camp with the Falcons among the injured. "Lofa sustained a pectoral injury while working out recently (Thursday)," coach Mike Smith said. "At this point, we do not know the extent of the injury, but we expect to have more information early next week." The Falcons signed Tatupu to a two-year, $5.75 million deal in March with hopes he would compete with Akeem Dent for the starting middle linebacker spot.
