'No Doubt' Foster Will Be Ready For Opener

Jul 6, 2014 2:59 AM

Texans running back Arian Foster will be ready to play in Week 1 of the regular season. Foster strained his left hamstring on Saturday night in a preseason game against the 49ers, but the NFL's reigning rushing champion says the injury in mild and improving. "I'm okay," Foster said. "It's a lot better than I thought it was. I'm already jogging." Foster's strained hamstring that cost him two weeks of camp is worse than the one he suffered Saturday. "It's never a good thing to have experience with hamstring problems, but, unfortunately, with my track record, I do," he said. "It was just a mild strain. It feels good."

Texans Optimistic Foster Will Play In Week 1

Aug 6, 2014 2:41 PM

Texans coach Gary Kubiak is optimistic Arian Foster will be ready for the regular-season opener. Foster re-aggravated a hamstring injury in Saturday's preseason game in San Francisco. The NFL's leading rusher in 2010, Foster left the field in the first quarter of Houston's 30-7 victory, favoring the left hamstring that he strained early in training camp. "Looks like we're dealing with the same thing we were dealing with at the start of camp," coach Gary Kubiak said.
