Cowboys Expect To Have Romo At 'Full Strength'

Jul 15, 2014 10:26 AM

Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones fully expects Tony Romo to play against the Giants on Sunday night. Romo was limited in practice on Friday for the third straight day, but he is officially listed as probable on the injury report. "He's going to be playing at full strength," Jones said on KRLD-FM Friday morning. "It's just a very big-time feel-good to know that we're going to be going in with this kind of quarterbacking. He's had an outstanding year. He's a top, top quarterback and he's got a good team around him. In my belief, a very good team around him, so the stage is set for us to play well in a big game."

Romo Practices With Wrap On Hand

Jul 28, 2014 9:00 PM

Tony Romo was able to do a little more in Thursday's practice than he was the previous day, but the Cowboys quarterback has yet to take a snap from center since suffering a bruised hand on Christmas Eve. "We're still in the process of doing some things like that," said Romo, who was listed as limited on the injury report, "and I think each day that stuff gets a little bit better." He wore a wrap on his hand in Thursday's practice after not using one on Wednesday. Romo, however, reiterated that he would play Sunday against the Giants, with the winner claiming the NFC East title and a playoff spot. "I think you have to go out there and practice all week and get yourself ready to go to the game on Sunday," Romo said. "I'm excited that we're in this position and we have an opportunity to go and play in a big game like this. This is when it gets fun. No matter what, you're not going to sit one of these out."

Bears Place Cutler, Forte On Injured Reserve

Jul 23, 2014 9:26 AM

The Bears placed quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte on injured reserve on Tuesday, meaning they will miss the season finale at Minnesota this week. Chicago (7-8) has lost five straight since Cutler broke his right thumb late in a win over San Diego on Nov. 20, and things took another bad turn two weeks later when Forte sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee against Kansas City. Cutler, who was scheduled to have surgically inserted pins removed Tuesday, threw for 2,319 yards with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Forte finished with 997 yards rushing and 490 receiving and was selected to his first Pro Bowl hours after being placed on IR.

Adrian Peterson Hopes To Play By Week 1

Oct 31, 2014 11:37 AM

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson hopes to be on the field for Week 1 of the 2012 season. Peterson will have left knee surgery following a pair of torn ligaments suffered in Minnesota's Week 16 win over Washington. "We expect most people to recover from this injury in eight to nine months and instead of comparing Adrian to any other player at any level that's had an anterior cruciate ligament, and they happen every day, I would really like Adrian to stand on his own merit because Adrian, I feel, is very unique," Vikings head trainer Eric Sugarman said Monday. "Adrian has a great work ethic. Adrian has the DNA to heal quickly, which he has shown in the past. He certainly will have the desire and the mental toughness to be able to get through the rehab process, which will take months and months, as you know. So, I think if anyone can get better quickly and safely in that time period, it would be Adrian Peterson."
