Crabtree Sets Freshmen Receiving Mark
Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree set the NCAA freshman record for receptions in a season Saturday with a 19-yard touchdown catch in the Red Raiders' 31-26 loss to Colorado.
Crabtree caught his 99th pass when Graham Harrell hit him in the corner of the end zone to pull Tech within 31-19 late in the third quarter.
The 6-foot-3, 208-pound redshirt freshman overtook the 98 catches by former Tech running back Taurean Henderson in 2002. The TD catch also gave him the Big 12 season record with 18, surpassing the mark set by Oklahoma State's Rashaun Woods in 2002.

Report: John Elway's Son, QB Jack, Commits To ASU
Quarterback Jack Elway, son of NFL Hall of Famer John Elway, has verbally committed to playing for Arizona State, the Rocky Mountain News reported Saturday.
The younger Elway has thrown for 1,677 yards and 21 touchdowns this season at Cherry Creek High School in suburban Denver. He visited Arizona State last weekend, watching the unbeaten Sun Devils beat Washington 44-20.
Vandy Upsets No. 6 South Carolina
Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson had no doubt how his Commodores would react, even if many others did, following last week's disheartening loss to Georgia.
