Cardinals wide receiver Ed Gant has been suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the policy on performance-enhancing substances. The NFL didn't release information on the substance involved. Gant spent last season on the Cardinals' practice squad, but he is expected to compete for the fourth and fifth receiving positions.

Falcons offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka has been suspended without pay for the season opener after being arrested last year. Atlanta will play Pittsburgh on Sept. 12. Ojinnaka was arrested in May 2009 on a simple battery charge after his wife confronted him over his contact with a female friend on Facebook.
