The NFL has suspended new Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
On Sunday, the Jets acquired the talented but troubled receiver from the Steelers for a fifth-round pick in this month's draft.
In a two-sentence statement, the NFL confirmed that Holmes had been suspended without pay.
