Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said there is no clear leader in the clubhouse yet in the team's three-player quarterback race.
"I think it's very close," Philbin told Joe Rose on WQAM.
"I think it's very close. I think they all bring different attributes to the table. I will say that the room itself, the quality of the individuals in the room, I think is excellent."
The Miami Herald wrote earlier this week that Matt Moore looked better than rookie Ryan Tannehill at Tuesday's practice, although Moore was far from perfect. The newspaper suggested Tannehill struggled.
David Garrard -- who seems destined to be the No. 3 quarterback -- is home this week with his wife after his house suffered storm damage over the weekend.

Brian Banks Says He Has NFL Tryout
Several teams are willing to give Brian Banks a chance to fulfill his dream of playing pro football.
Banks, who last week was exonerated of a rape conviction that put him in prison for five years, claims he'll work out with the Seahawks on June 7.
The Redskins, Chiefs and Dolphins also have called to talk to him about a tryout.
"I'll make 'em happy," Banks said. "After all I've been through these last 10 years, I can still do some things that will impress you."
Dolphins Will Be Featured On 'Hard Knocks'
After a drawn-out process, HBO has decided to showcase the Miami Dolphins on this summer's version of "Hard Knocks."
The seventh season premieres Aug. 7, with four more one-hour episodes airing on subsequent Tuesdays.
The Jets and Falcons both were mentioned as potential selections for this season, but sources both franchises declined to be on the show.
Bush Unsure Of Miami's New Uptempo Offense
The Dolphins have installed an uptempo offense under new coach Joe Philbin with a goal of running perhaps 90 plays per game.
"That's a lot of plays," running back Reggie Bush said.
"I was just asking our running back coach (Jeff Nixon), 'Is this going to be the temp in the game?' We're pretty fast right now, but usually we practice faster than we should play. I don't know, we'll see. Hopefully the tempo will go down a little bit and save some guys because that's a lot of plays in one game."
Aside from the faster speed, Bush says the Dolphins are adapting to their new offense well.
"I don't think it's too bad. For the most part, I think everybody's doing a good job at picking it up. The rookies are doing a good job getting in there and learning behind the veterans. I think the veterans are doing a good job of picking up the new system and really just trying to play fast. I think everyone is doing a good job with that."
Dolphins Set Deadline For Tannehill, Moore Decision
The quarterback race in Miami is wide open, but the Dolphins don't plan on dragging the competition out.
Joe Philbin hopes to have a starting quarterback in place by Aug. 24, the date of the team's third preseason game.
Miami selected Texas A&M star Ryan Tannehill with the eighth-overall pick in the 2012 draft, but the job will not be handed to him immediately as Matt Moore competes for it as well.
Burress Likes Dolphins, Won't Get Workout
Plaxico Burress says he "would love" to work out for the Dolphins, but the team has not shown any interest in the wide receiver.
Miami general manager Jeff Ireland has said he "might be done" at receiver.
Owner Expects Moore To Start For Dolphins
Despite drafting Ryan Tannehill high in last month's NFL Draft, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross expects Matt Moore to begin the 2012 season as the team's starting quarterback.
"I don't think they're going to rush (Tannehill) into anything," Ross said. "He's going to have to win the starting job. I think Matt Moore will probably be the starter, and I wish him the best."
Moore exceeded expectations starting the final 12 games last year, when Miami went 6-10.
He is also expected to compete with veteran newcomer David Garrard for the starting job.
Ross Plays Down Ryan Tannehill Expectations
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has downplayed expectations for instant results from rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Ross says the team won't rush Tannehill's development.
"The important thing is not to have great expectations up front, and bring him along," Ross said. "See how it works for him. He certainly has the talent, and you don't want to get a guy down early. We've seen that before."
Tannehill will compete for the starting spot against veterans Matt Moore and David Garrard.
Tannehill Unsure If He'll Start For Dolphins Immediately
Ryan Tannehill has drawn raves in Miami, but the Dolphins have yet to tell him that he will begin his rookie season as their starting quarterback.
"I don't know," Tannehill told ESPN Radio. "They haven't told me anything. I'm just going to go in and compete. That's what I want to do every day, go in and compete. ... I want to play, but I don't think they've really spelled out their plans for me."
Reggie Bush Wants To Lead NFL In Rushing
Reggie Bush, coming off the best season of his professional career, has a new goal for the 2012 season.
After running for a career-high 1,806 years, the Dolphin wants to lead the NFL in rushing.
"I want the rushing title," Bush said. "This offseason I've been working towards that goal. Just being effective like I was this past season. Every time I rush the ball I want four yards. I'm keeping my focus simple and small, but at same time helping my team progress."
Marshall Rips Dolphins, Quarterback Play
Brandon Marshall has said that even the greatest receiver in the history of the game couldn't succeed with the quarterbacks he was "forced" to deal with last season.
