Andrew Luck Feels 'Obligation' To Stay Healthy

May 18, 2016 11:47 AM

After missing nine games due to injuries last season, Andrew Luck is healthy again.

Luck said it's up to him to keep himself healthy and reduce his turnovers.

“I think every year you re-evaluate,” Luck said. “You’re going to change things every year. That’s the nature of it. Hopefully you improve every year. I definitely think, like always, I have an obligation to keep myself healthy, not only to myself but to this team.”

Luck has been working closely with new quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer on a regular basis so the two can get up to speed as quickly as possible.

Joe Philbin Feels Fortunate To Join Colts As O-Line Coach

May 18, 2016 11:44 AM

Joe Philbin feels fortunate to have joined the Indianapolis Colts as offensive line coach.

Philbin was fired last season by the Miami Dolphins as head coach.

"I lived in the Midwest for 13 years out of the last 17 and loved every minute of it," Philbin told reporters this week, via the team's official site. "So this is where I wanted to be. I just feel very, very fortunate to be part of this staff."

He added: "It seems like a really outstanding group of men to work with. (I've) really, really enjoyed just being with them in the meeting room and being with them on the practice field. It seems like their work ethic is outstanding. They're real serious about what they do. They're good people."

Colts Won't Alter How Andrew Luck Plays

May 11, 2016 9:12 PM

The Indianapolis Colts will not adjust how Andrew Luck approaches the game after a season in which he struggled when he was on the field and was also injury prone.

"We're not going to change the way Andrew plays,'' quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer said, via ESPN.com. "Andrew's going to play the game. You've got to let Andrew play.''

Luck has been hit more than any quarterback since he's entered the league in 2012.

"I think the turnovers will happen from time to time," Schottenheimer said. "There are a few decisions, of course, from last year he looks at and is like, 'Man, I shouldn't have done that,' but I think that's all a part of the process. I think he grew a lot last year just by actually being able to sit back and watch a little bit."
