Matt Leinart says he would not be surprised if Pete Carroll eventually made his way back to the NFL and it could be with the Cardinals. "I would never rule out that possibility in the future," Leinart said. "I'm not one to say next year or the year after or whatever, but he's a competitive guy and he wants to win. "What he has at SC is something special, though. He could go down as one of the greatest college coaches ever. I think he already is. We'll see what happens." The Cardinals will be interested in Carroll, should they fire Dennis Green and sources say that the job intrigues the USC coach.

Emmitt Smith, three-time Dallas Super Bowl champion, was named the winner of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Wednesday night. The NFL's all-time leading rusher beat out actor Mario Lopez. Lopez was generally regarded as the series most dynamic dancer, but the public's vote, the deciding factor after the contestants had tied in the judges' tally at Tuesday's final dance-off, brought Smith the victory.

After the bronze likeness of her late husband was unveiled Sunday, Marie Tillman embraced the statue of football star and fallen soldier Pat Tillman. The statue shows Tillman screaming, captured by the intensity of the game, helmet in hand and his hair flowing.
