Magic Johnson In Talks To Buy Stake In Raiders At $6.4B Valuation

Oct 24, 2022 4:24 PM

Magic Johnson is in talks to purchase a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders that could set a new valuation record for an NFL team.

Johnson has been assembling a team of investors in recent weeks for a minority slice of the Raiders, which is majority owned by the family of the late Al Davis.

The minority stake would value the team at $6.5 billion.

A deal has yet to be finalized and could still fall apart.

Record Day For Josh Jacobs With Mentor Marcus Allen On Hand

Oct 24, 2022 1:36 AM

Marcus Allen has been a mentor to Josh Jacobs ever since Jacobs entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick in 2019. Fate would have it, then, that Allen was in the Allegiant Stadium suite of Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis on Sunday when Jacobs added his name to the franchise record book for running backs ... alongside Allen.

And it was Allen who corralled Jacobs in the hallway outside of the Raiders' locker room following their 38-20 blowout of the Houston Texans -- a game in which Jacobs rushed for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns -- to tell him, "They should have been running you all along," Jacobs recalled with a laugh.

Davante Adams Pushes Person Postgame, Apologizes

Oct 11, 2022 8:42 AM

Davante Adams shoved a credentialed person on the field carrying equipment in the aftermath of the Las Vegas Raiders' loss at the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.

The wide receiver later issued an apology.

"I want to apologize to the guy, there was some guy running off the field, and he ran, like jumped in front of me coming off the field and I bumped into him, kind of pushed him, and he ended up on the ground," Adams said. "So I wanted to say sorry to him for that because that was just frustration mixed with him literally just running in from of me. I shouldn't have responded that way, but that's how I initially responded. So, I want to apologize to him for that."

Adam Schefter reports that Adams is facing discipline from the NFL.
