Derek Carr 'So Happy' Mark Davis Endorsed Josh McDaniels

Nov 17, 2022 9:03 AM

The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-7, but Mark Davis said earlier this week that Josh McDaniels is doing a "fantastic job."

Davis was adamant that he will give McDaniels time to turn things around after hiring him before this season.

Carr said he is "so happy to hear that Mr. Davis feels that way."

"Let’s just get better," the quarterback said. "Let's work on being a better football team. Let's go out and win all these games. Let's go try and do all that, of course, but let's just be a better football team. It kind of let us know, the process, trust that process. There is a process and we do have time during the season that we know who our leader is, and we know that we're rolling, and that gives us confidence as a football team. So, absolutely, when he came out and did that, 'Whew, thank goodness.' That kind of thing."

Owner On Josh McDaniels' Status: 'Rome Was Not Built In A Day'

Nov 15, 2022 2:21 AM

Shortly after Josh McDaniels shared his vision of the Raiders' future on Monday, a day after a stunning 25-20 loss to the Colts that dropped his team to 2-7, owner Mark Davis told ESPN that he will be patient with his first-year head coach and the program he is building.

"People in today's world want instant gratification. The guy's coached nine games. We're 2-7, not the results we're looking for but at the same time we've lost six one-score games with the ball and a chance to win at the end," Davis said.

Asked about giving a vote of confidence to McDaniels, who was hired in January, Davis said that happened when he signed him to a deal.

"I gave him my vote of confidence when I signed him to a contract to be coach of the Raiders. That's when I gave it to him," he told ESPN.

Davis added: "Rome was not built in a day."

Colts Win With Debuting Coach Jeff Saturday, QB Matt Ryan

Nov 14, 2022 1:10 AM

Jeff Saturday began his day with phone calls to his wife and son back home in Georgia.

By the time he departed for Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, the newly appointed Colts interim head coach felt an odd sense of tranquility about his debut.

"In all honesty and in all truth, I felt very at peace," he said.

With Saturday resigned to accept any potential outcome, the Colts went out and made him 1-0 as a head coach with a 25-20 victory over the Raiders, taking them to 4-5-1 and giving Saturday some needed credibility with a locker room full of players and a coaching staff blindsided by his stunning hire six days ago.

The Las Vegas Raiders have placed Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow on injured reserve.

Waller has been battling a strained left hamstring since a Week 5 loss to the Chiefs and already has missed Las Vegas' last three games.

Both Waller (three years, $51 million) and Renfrow (two years, $32 million) signed offseason extensions, but neither has been able to stay on the field this year.

Davante Adams: No Way Raiders Should Be Losing Like This

Nov 7, 2022 8:54 AM

The Las Vegas Raiders surrendered yet another lead on Sunday, losing 27-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"There's no reason why we should be losing games like this, and it's frustrating," Davante Adams said. "If we played for a s---ty team, then it's one thing. But that's not what it is."

The loss marked the third time this season the Raiders have lost after holding at least a 17-point lead. They are 2-6 under new coach Josh McDaniels.

Nov 2, 2022 9:04 AM

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis met with Josh McDaniels following the team's 24-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.

It marked the second time in six weeks that McDaniels met with Davis, which led to speculation he might fire the first-year coach.

However, in a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Davis made it clear McDaniels isn't going anywhere.

"Josh McDaniels Is our head coach and will be for years to come," Davis said.
