The Raiders have signed free-agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper to a one-year contract, according to a report by KPIX Television in San Francisco.
According to the report, the team is expected to make the official announcement on Wednesday. Terms of the deal are not known.
The Oakland Tribune reported on Tuesday that coach Lane Kiffin confirmed the team was considering the three-time Pro Bowl selection. On Sunday, Kiffin described contract negotiations between the Raiders and quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the team's No. 1 draft pick, as "going kind of slow."

Raiders Expected To Sign Culpepper
A source familiar with the situation said the Raiders are expected to sign free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper today.
With the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, the Raiders signed JaMarcus Russell, who is 6-foot-5 and in the 250-pound range. Culepper is the only quarterback on the market with comparable size, at 6-foot-4 and a listed weight of 265 pounds.
Coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Sunday night Culpepper was being brought in for a workout. He also said the Raiders had already seen Culpepper recently.
Culpepper Heading To Oakland For Workout
Free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper will work out for the Raiders on Tuesday, two weeks after being released by the Dolphins.
Culpepper held a private workout for a member of the Raiders' personnel department in Florida on Monday. The 30-year-old quarterback did well enough there to persuade the team to fly him out to California for an additional workout.
"Anytime that we have a chance to investigate something that can help our team win, were going to do it," Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said. "Obviously Daunte is something that weve been looking into for a little bit. This is kind of the climax of it, working him out tomorrow."
Porter On First Day Of Camp Kiffin: "It Was Hell"
No. 1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell is still contract-less and staying at his mom's house in Mobile, Ala. Second-round pick Zach Miller was on his way to camp Friday before his contract negotiations stalled, so he went back home to Arizona.
Otherwise, all players were on hand for the first training camp run by rookie coach Lane Kiffin, who deemed Friday an "extremely positive first day."
"First day? It was hell," wide receiver Jerry Porter said. "This sun, it's unforgiving. It was beating on you the whole time."
Raiders Cut TE Anderson, Sign DE Swancutt
The Raiders cut tight end Courtney Anderson on Thursday as the team reported to its first training camp under new coach Lane Kiffin.
Anderson, a seventh-round pick out of San Jose State in 2004, started 24 games the past two seasons, making 49 catches for 588 yards and five touchdowns. He split time last season with converted wide receiver Randal Williams and was not expected to start this year.
49ers Claim S Bing Off Waivers From Oakland
Safety Darnell Bing was claimed off waivers by the 49ers on Thursday, a day after being waived by the Raiders.
Bing, a fourth-round pick out of USC in 2006, spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a neck injury.
Russell Shooting For Record $30 Million In Guaranteed Money
No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell's agent, Eric Metz, continues to negotiate a deal with the Raiders that could secure up to a rookie-record $30 million in guaranteed money. Neither side is commenting on the talks.
The Raiders are known for getting everyone signed by camp, but at least one team insider said a Russell holdout remains a possibility. Even when a contract is agreed upon, it still must go through lawyers and be approved by the league office -- a process that could take several days before Russell can practice.
Raiders Release Treu, Jackson
The Raiders released offensive lineman Adam Treu on Tuesday, cutting ties with the longest-tenured player with the team.
Treu had been with the team since being selected in the third round of the 1997 draft. His streak of 155 consecutive games played was snapped last season when he was sidelined with a torn quad muscle in his right leg.
He played on the offensive line, as well as serving as the team's long snapper.
The Raiders also released fullback Tony Jackson, who was on the practice squad last season.
Oakland's Cooper Suspended
Oakland safety Jarrod Cooper was suspended on Friday for the Raiders' first four regular season games for violating the NFL's policy on steroids.
Cooper, a valuable special teams player, will be allowed to participate in training camp and preseason games. But he won't be able to be on the team's active roster until Oct. 1, the day after the teams' fourth game against Miami.
Cooper is the second Raiders player to be suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Running back Dominic Rhodes was also suspended for four games.
Oakland Signs OL Mario Henderson
The Raiders signed offensive lineman Mario Henderson to a contract Friday, making him the team's fourth draft pick to sign a deal.
Henderson, a third-rounder taken with the 91st overall pick in the April draft, started all 13 games at offensive tackle in his final season at Florida State.
Raiders' Rhodes Hit With Four-Game Suspension
Raiders running back Dominic Rhodes violated the league's substance abuse policy.
