Raiders' Kiffin Stresses New Beginning This Season

Oct 21, 2014 11:09 PM

When Lane Kiffin took over as Raiders' head coach, one of the first things he told his new players was that he didn't want to dwell on what went wrong last season. For the players who suffered through a 2-14 campaign that led to the Raiders being the butt of jokes on late-night comedy shows and coach Art Shell being fired, that was a welcome tact.

Kiffin: Moss Not Going Anywhere

Jul 22, 2014 5:24 PM

Randy Moss, according to head coach Lane Kiffin, is not on the trading block, nor has he been discussed in talks with the Packers, the Patriots or any other team. Kiffin confirmed the truth yet again. "I've never had a conversation with Randy, at all, about trading him,'' said Kiffin, who sees Moss in a Raiders uniform this fall. "I think he'll be on our team. Yeah, I do,'' Kiffin said emphatically.

Report: Packers And Raiders Not Close On Moss Deal

Sep 28, 2014 12:19 PM

The Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders are not close to a trade in which the Packers would acquire wide receiver Randy Moss, NFL sources familiar with the situation told the Journal Sentinel today. Officials from both teams labeled as inaccurate a report written by Michael Felger of the Boston Herald quoting a source in Wisconsin that the two teams "are on the verge of announcing a trade that would send the troubled wide receiver to Green Bay in exchange for backup quarterback Aaron Rodgers." "It's all a joke," a personnel man for one of the two clubs said. "It's not true," said another personnel man for one of the two teams. "That's just stupid."

Report: Packers Step Up Moss Efforts

Oct 21, 2014 11:16 PM

A deal could be in the works between the Packers and Oakland Raiders for Randy Moss, and the management staff will hold meetings on Tuesday to discuss interest in bringing Moss to Green Bay. A recent report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel said that general manager Ted Thompson has had discussions with Oakland owner Al Davis about a trade for Moss, with discussions reaching the point of the Packers speaking with Moss' agent about restructuring his current contract if a deal gets done. "They're going to get rid of him," an unnamed league source told the Journal-Sentinel. "I think they think they can trade him. And I know Green Bay has interest." Thompson has not spoken about a possible deal for Moss in public. "Ted has not spent a lot of time talking to me about it, quite honestly," Bob Harlan, chairman of the Packer's board, told the Journal-Sentinel. "Ted always starts out our meetings with a football report so he may get into that."
