Ndamukong Suh Likely To Leave Lions In Offseason

Oct 21, 2014 5:02 PM

The Detroit Lions and Ndamukong Suh are planning on this being their final season together.

Suh has told people in the past that he would love to play in New York, and the idea of it has huge appeal to him, league sources said.

Suh believes playing in New York for either the New York Giants or New York Jets would increase his proile.

The Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys would also have interest in signing Suh.

Calvin Johnson Returns To Practice

Oct 21, 2014 5:02 PM

Calvin Johnson returned to practice for the Detroit Lions on Friday after missing two days with an ankle injury.

Johnson did a full complement of work during the team's individual workouts.

Johnson plans on playing against the New York Jets in Week 4.

"He's one of those guys that physically, he's an unusual individual," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said before practice Friday. "He responds quickly to treatment. He bounces back pretty quickly for the most part. What would ordinarily take some guys a little bit longer, he seems to be able to fight his way through it.

"He has an extremely high pain tolerance, as well, and he prepares and takes care of his body every single day of the year. That's where his focus is, and I think he benefits from that sort of regimen."

Lions Optimistic Ndamukong Suh Will Stay Long-Term

Oct 31, 2014 8:17 AM

Sources said the Detroit Lions remain optimistic about Ndamukong Suh staying and are very enthused about his start to the season.

But there is a growing sense in conversations with numerous execs and agents around the league, including many who have been in contact with Suh's representatives, that striking a deal prior to the start of free agency will be very difficult.

Suh counts $22.4M against the cap this season and franchising him for one year, at around $27M, isn't feasible for the Lions, sources said.
