Browns Hire Alex Van Pelt As Offensive Coordinator

The Cleveland Browns have hired Alex Van Pelt as offensive coordinator.

Van Pelt spent the past two seasons as quarterback coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Van Pelt played quarterback for 11 seasons in the NFL, with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

Browns Part Ways With Three Executives

The Cleveland Browns have restructured their front office under new general manager Andrew Berry.

Vice president of player personnel Alonzo Highsmith, assistant general manager Eliot Wolf and college scouting director Steve Malin have all mutually agreed to part ways with the Browns, according to a report.

All three executives were hired by former GM John Dorsey.

Browns Hire Andrew Berry As General Manager

The Cleveland Browns have hired Andrew Berry as general manager and executive vice president of football operations.

Berry had been vice president of football operations for the Philadelphia Eagles. Berry was with the Browns from 2016-18 as the team's vice president of player personnel before leaving last season to join the Eagles.

Berry graduated from Harvard with a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in computer science. Berry also played football and was an All-Ivy League selection at cornerback three times.

Berry replaces John Dorsey.

Odell Beckham Jr. underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Bill Meyers in Philadelphia, and a full recovery is expected.

Beckham caught 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns.

Browns Expected To Hire George Paton As GM

The Cleveland Browns are expected to hire George Paton as general manager this week.

Paton is currently assistant general manager of the Minnesota Vikings.

The other two candidates interviewed were Eagles Vice President of Football Operations Andrew Berry and Patriots Director of College Scouting Monti Ossenfort.

Kevin Stefanski is familiar with Paton from their time together with the Vikings.

Warrant For Odell Beckham Jr. Rescinded By Police

The New Orleans Police Department has rescinded a misdemeanor simple battery warrant for Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham playfully swatted the buttocks of a Superdome security officer during LSU's locker room celebration. 

“The security officer in the incident involving Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to drop the charge,” the department’s public information office said in an email.

New Orleans police on Thursday morning obtained an arrest warrant accusing Odell Beckham Jr. of simple battery in relation to a locker room interaction he had with a Superdome police officer after LSU won the national championship.

A judge already denied a request from the police to charge Beckham with misdemeanor sexual battery.

After Beckham appeared to slap the officer, the officer turned around and exchanged words with Beckham, but he was not arrested at the time.

The Cleveland Browns have officially hired Kevin Stefanski.

Stefanski was given a five-year deal by the Browns.

The 37-year-old spent 14 seasons as an assistant in Minnesota and was most recently the offensive coordinator.

The Cleveland Browns plan to hire Kevin Stefanski as head coach.

Sefanski will replace Freddie Kitchens.

The Browns met with eight candidates, including 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Stefanski played defensive back at Penn. After graduating in 2005, he went to work for the Vikings, where he remained an assistant for the past 13 years.

Stefanski took over as interim offensive coordinator in Minnesota during the 2018 season and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019.
