Bills offensive lineman Ed Wang became the first player with full Chinese ancestry to be drafted into the NFL when he was selected by Buffalo last year. Now he's working to ensure there eventually will be more football players from his parents' homeland. "I see so much potential," Wang said during a clinic Tuesday for university students playing in a 32-school flag football league. "Just these kids ... they were just picking it up so fast. Just how smart they were and how they just soaked everything up. It was just so incredible," Wang said.

Bob Sanders, who was released by the Colts last week, will meet with the Bills after sitting down with the Jaguars on Monday. The safety will talk with Buffalo on Tuesday, according to a league source.

For the first time in eight seasons, the Buffalo Bills will get a new field surface. The team has requested Erie County to seek bids to replace the AstroPlay top that was installed in 2003. A new surface is part of a $2.8 million project of repairs and renovations to take place at Ralph Wilson Stadium this offseason.

C.J. Spiller, expected to be a dynamic option out of the backfield as a rookie with the Bills, didn't live up to expectations in 2010. Of Spiller's 98 touches, only two plays went for 20 or more yards. He was expected to be a serious threat for Buffalo on screen passes.

The Bills have released defensive lineman Marcus Stroud in a move that frees up salary and playing time for the team's developing players. The move was not considered a surprise after the 10-year NFL veteran struggled in making the transition in Buffalo's switch to a 3-4 defensive scheme. He was scheduled to make $10 million in base salary over the final two years of his contract.
