Cardinals May Not Be Able To Afford Kirk Cousins

Feb 26, 2018 12:25 PM

The Arizona Cardinals need a quarterback following the retirement of Carson Palmer, but Kirk Cousins is an unlikely option.

According to Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7, Cousins is expected to command too much money.

The Cardinals have $24 million in cap space, which is less than several teams that could also be in the market for Cousins -- the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos.

Feb 12, 2018 7:38 AM

Larry Fitzgerald and PGA Tour Pro Kevin Streelman won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am team title on Sunday with a 12-under final round, winning by 7 strokes.

"It's great, but I'm just hoping moving forward we don't have to talk about color anymore," the Arizona Cardinals receiver said. "It's just us as one as a people. Just to be here is an accomplishment. But that's quite an accomplishment."

Fitzgerald is still contemplating his future in the NFL and said at the Super Bowl that he would make a decision on his playing future in the next "week or two."

Larry Fitzgerald Moving Closer To 2018 Decision

Feb 4, 2018 3:26 PM

Larry Fitzgerald will make a decision regarding his playing future within the next few weeks.

Arizona's ability to acquire a quarterback to replace Carson Palmer will make a big difference for Fitzgerald's plans.

"I'm excited about what the future holds," Fitzgerald said of the Cardinals during his appearance on NFL GameDay Morning. "Obviously there are things that still need to happen in terms of personnel, draft and things like that that help our team improve. But I'm confident that Steve Keim is doing a good job with that."

Fitzgerald could move to No. 2 all-time in receiving yards in 2018.

"I haven't made any definitive decisions," Fitzgerald said. "I'll be ready in about a week or two."
