Eagles Release DeMeco Ryans

The Philadelphia Eagles have cut DeMeco Ryans after four seasons with the franchise.

The Eagles will save $3.5 million with the release of Ryans.

Ryans, 31, earned the "Lion King"-based nickname of Mufasa for his steady leadership and the deep respect he commanded from his teammates. 

The Eagles will switch to a 4-3 defense this season.

Cromartie was due $8 million in 2016.

The Jets won't have any guaranteed money or dead money on their books with the release.

Joique Bell Released By Lions

Joique Bell has been released by the Detroit Lions.

Bell struggled with injuries throughout the 2015 season and was passed on the depth chart by Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick.

Bell gained a career-low 311 yards on 90 carries with four touchdowns.
