Eagles Expected To Pursue Chip Kelly

The Philadelphia Eagles will heavily pursue Oregon head coach Chip Kelly to replace Andy Reid, according to sources.

Kelly is expected to strongly consider leaving Oregon for the NFL amid potential NCAA sanctions.

The Eagles won't be the only team to pursue Kelly, but could quickly become the favorite.

Boise State Talking To Mountain West About Staying

Boise State is discussing scenarios with the Mountain West where the school would remain in the conference instead of leaving for the Big East.

The Mountain West is trying to bring back the Broncos amid a shakeup with Louisville and Rutgers leaving the Big East for the ACC.

Boise State could be forced to make a quick choice between the two conferences because the Mountain West and CBS have agreed to restructure their television deal, CBSSports.com reported Friday, citing anonymous sources.

David Shaw Signs Long-Term Extension With Stanford

Terms of the deal, including the length of the extension, were not announced by the school.

Shaw had been frequently rumored as a probable NFL candidate.

Alabama Confident Saban Won't Leave For NFL

Nick Saban has been rumored as a candidate for several expected NFL vacancies, but Alabama athletic director Mal Moore is confident he will remain in Tuscaloosa.

"He's expressed to me on several occasions ... that he's happy here," Moore said. "He feels very comfortable, and I believe him."

Saban was previously head coach of the Dolphins.

Sources: Colorado Hires San Jose State's MacIntyre

Colorado has hired San Jose State's Mike MacIntyre as its next head football coach, sources told ESPN.com's Ted Miller on Monday. 

MacIntyre replaces Jon Embree, who was fired two weeks ago after going 4-21 in two seasons.

At Colorado, MacIntyre will inherit a squad that went 1-11 this season, the worst mark in the 123-year history of the program.

Johnny Manziel Wins Heisman Trophy

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, taking college football's top individual prize Saturday night after a record-breaking debut.

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o finished a distant second and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein was third in the voting, according to an ESPN.com report.

Cal Hires Sonny Dykes To Replace Jeff Tedford

Cal has hired Louisiana Tech coach Sonny Dykes in hopes of reviving a program that has struggled in recent years under Jeff Tedford.

AD Sandy Barbour announced the hire Wednesday night. Dykes will be formally introduced at a news conference on Thursday.

Dykes, 43, led Louisiana Tech to a 9-3 season that included road wins over Illinois and Virginia and a 59-57 loss to Texas A&M.

Manziel, Te'o, Klein Named Heisman Finalists

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein are the three finalists for the 2012 Heisman Trophy.

Manziel, a redshirt freshman, passed for 3,418 yards and 24 touchdowns, with eight passes intercepted. 

Te’o, a senior, intercepted seven passes and anchored a Notre Dame defense that led the Fighting Irish to a 12-0 record.

Klein passed for 2,490 yards and 15 touchdowns while also rushing for 890 yards and 22 touchdowns.
