NFL Suspends Dante Fowler Jr. One Game

Jul 26, 2018 8:35 PM

Dante Fowler Jr. has been suspended by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

While the league did not specify what triggered the suspension, Fowler has had several off-field issues. In March, he pleaded no contest to charges of battery, criminal mischief and petit theft stemming from an arrest last July in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Fowler was sentenced to a year of probation and 75 hours of community service and was fined $925, according to court records.

A video also surfaced on TMZ.com of Fowler apparently refereeing a fight between his girlfriend and the mother of his child.

Steve Keim Charged With DUI On July 4th

Jul 7, 2018 11:22 AM

Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was cited for driving under the influence on July 4 in Chandler, Arizona.

“We are aware of the incident on Wednesday involving Steve Keim,” the team said in a statement. “He fully recognizes the seriousness of the situation and that this type of behavior is unacceptable and inexcusable. Steve immediately alerted the team who in turn reported it to the NFL as required under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy. We are continuing to gather information and will handle the matter appropriately and in accordance with all league policies as well as within the legal system.”

Keim has been GM since 2013 and began working with the team as a scout in 1999. He signed a contract extension in February through 2022.

“I truly regret my incredibly poor judgment and inexcusable actions,” Keim said in a statement released by the team. “Everyone associated with the NFL and its teams is held to a high standard of behavior and I obviously failed to meet that. I sincerely apologize to our organization and its fans as well as to my family. I accept full responsibility for my actions and hold myself completely accountable. Moving forward, I will take the steps to ensure that I never put myself or the Cardinals in this type of situation again.”

NFL's PED Policy Encourages Players To Snitch

Jul 5, 2018 12:02 PM

The NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs rewards players who snitch on their teammates.

“The NFL Management Council may, prior to the conclusion of a Player’s appeal, reduce the length of the suspension and corresponding bonus forfeiture by up to 50% when the Player has provided full and complete assistance (including hearing testimony if required) to the Management Council which results in the finding of an additional violation of the Policy by another Player, coach, trainer or other person subject to this Policy,” the policy states.

A player facing a four-game suspension can potentially cut their suspension in half if they provide information on a teammate, coach or trainer.

Robert Turbin Suspended Four Games For PED Violation

Jul 2, 2018 9:11 AM

Robert Turbin has been suspended four games for using performance-enhancing drugs.

He will be eligible to return to the Indianapolis Colts on October 1, ahead of the team's Week 5 game at New England on Oct. 4.

"A urine sample I provided to the NFL has resulted in a positive test of a banned substance under league policy with regards to Performance Enhancing Substances. It absolutely kills me that I allowed this to happen," Turbin wrote on Twitter. "It has always been a priority in my life to display a high level of leadership both on and off the field. I strive to be a person that people can look up to and strive to exemplify the definition of hard work.

"Unfortunately, I have made a mistake. A mistake that will not only have personal consequences, but will affect the Colts organization, an organization that I am extremely appreciative to be a part of. For that, I am truly sorry."
