Could Panthers Use Asante Samuel?

Jul 31, 2011 5:44 PM

The Panthers will show interest in veteran cornerback Asante Samuel if the Eagles make him available, according to a source. However, Samuel's big contract would be a stumbling block in a potential trade with the Panthers, who committed more than $272 million last week to five of their core players. Marcedes Lewis Plans To End Holdout

Jul 31, 2011 5:42 PM

Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis will end his short holdout on Monday by reporting to camp with the team. "Basically they still are negotiating but I'm tired of not being with my team! And I need to be there..." Lewis told The Florida Times-Union via text message. The Jaguars franchised Lewis in February and the Pro Bowl tight end signed his franchise tender in March. The franchise tag would pay him $7.3 million for a one-year deal, but Lewis does not want to play for a one-year deal.

Marshall Reveals Personality Disorder

Jul 31, 2011 5:39 PM

Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he was diagnosed earlier this year with borderline personality disorder. The disorder has been known to stem from things such as unstable personal relationships, a negative self-image and a fear of failure. He made the decision to go public with the issue to raise awareness, and says he plans to eventually lobby Congress for funding to assist research efforts. "For so long, I've been just trying to get help. I've been seeking help," Marshall said. "I've been talking with doctors since I've been in the NFL. No one has ever helped me. So I was praying there was a treatment out there for what I suffered from and there was."
