Locker Ahead Of Hasselback To Become Titans' Starter

Jake Locker is the favorite to win the starting quarterback job for the Titans to open the 2012 season. Matt Hasselbeck posted solid numbers for Tennessee last season, but Locker is the probable quarterback for the long-term.

Titans, Kendall Wright Reach Agreement

The Titans have reached an agreement on a four-year deal with first-round pick Kendall Wright, according to a source. Wright, a wide receiver out of Baylor, agreed to a deal worth $8.2 million and includes a $4.4 million signing bonus. Tennessee drafted Wright with the 20th overall pick.

Police: O.J. Murdock Dies In Apparent Suicide

Titans receiver O.J. Murdock has died of an apparent suicide, according to Tampa police. Police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said officers found the 25-year-old Murdock inside his car Monday morning with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Murdock was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he later died.

The Titans won't release Kenny Britt, but they are preparing to begin the season without the wide receiver. Britt is facing a possible suspension for his recent DUI arrest and is also coming off of three knee surgeries since he last played in an NFL game.

Kenny Britt Arrested For DWI

Kenny Britt was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of DWI at Fort Campbell, Ky. The Titans wide receiver was taken into custody at about 3:30 a.m. local time on suspicion of driving while intoxicated while accessing Fort Campbell through the main gate. "We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more facts," the Titans said in a statement.

Johnson: Titans Run 'Passing Offense'

The Titans are looking for a more balanced offense. "We were more of a smash-mouth team when I got here," Chris Johnson told The Tennessean. "And now it is more of a passing offense." Johnson still expects to have a "big role" but doesn't believe defenses will know what's coming like in the past. "Since I got here, a lot of seasons, everybody has been keying on me," Johnson added. "So, having all the extra additions, I feel good that everybody is not going to be able to key on me. I feel like a lot of teams won't be able to focus on me like they have in years past."

Britt Undergoes Another Knee Surgery

Kenny Britt recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. That's the second surgery in three months for the Titans wide receiver, who had follow-up surgery on his right knee earlier this offseason. During the 2011 season, Britt tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament, which also required surgery.
