Chris Johnson, Vick, Sanchez Rated As NFL's Worst Contracts

Oct 31, 2014 9:23 PM

ESPN's John Clayton recently wrote about the 10 worst contracts in the NFL.

Chris Johnson, who signed a six-year, $80.96 million contract, ranks first ahead of Michael Vick, Mark Sanchez, Kevin Kolb and Matt Cassel.

Vick is owed $47.5 million between 2013 and 2015, but the Eagles may part ways with him if Andy Reid isn't retained.

Rounding out the top-10 are DeAngelo Williams, Tyron Jackson, Will Smith, Doug Free and Carson Palmer.

For the Raiders, Clayton rates Palmer's contract as one of the worst due to the first and second round picks the team used to acquire him from the Bengals.

Comments By Titans' DC Jerry Gray Under Investigation By NFL

Sep 20, 2014 10:53 PM

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray's comments have triggered an investigation by the NFL, according to sources.

"If you are worrying about that, you are not going to go out and try and blow the guy up," Gray told The Tennessean on Thursday. "Great football players have to put that out of their mind. You have to say, 'This is my territory between the numbers, and if you throw the football you better bring the Gator truck.' And that's how you have to play. You can't play timid in the NFL."

The Gator is the used to take injured player off the field.

Gray coached under Gregg Williams for multiple teams.

According to a Titans source, Gray believes the NFL's willingness to fine players has adversely influenced the mentality of his players, and he was attempting to change their thought process.

Texans, Falcons, Bengals, Chargers Lead In 1st Half Differential

Jul 14, 2014 4:09 PM

An often overlooked aspect of football is to establish an early lead. Rather than worrying about establishing the pass or the run, simply getting an early lead allows the specific elements of the game to fall into place.

The Texans, Falcons, Bengals and Chargers lead in first half point differential.

The bottom-five are the Chiefs, Jaguars, Lions, Titans and Panthers.

Locker Expected To Miss Multiple Games, Eventually Require Surgery

Oct 31, 2014 10:36 AM

Jake Locker is expected to miss multiple games and eventually under surgery on his shoulder.

An MRI revealed no structural damage, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said Monday.

Locker reinjured the shoulder in Week 4 after originally sustaining it in Week 1.

“It surprised a lot of us how quickly and how good he felt within 48 hours or 72 hours of that injury last time,” Munchak said. “I hope he is that way so we can make the decision on what’s best for him and the team at that point. … If we don’t feel he can function or play, obviously he won’t play.”
