The Titans selected wide receiver Kendall Wright with their first pick last week, perhaps suggesting that the team will feature the pass more in 2012. Chris Johnson had a disappointing 2011 season after setting the league on fire the previous year. Tennessee is now a team that wants to throw the football. "I think [Wright] reminds me of Drew Hill and Ernest Givins that we had back in the run-and-shoot days in Houston," offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said. "He's a guy that also can play outside. He closes the cushion between himself and the defensive back very, very quickly. "I think he's a guy that will allow us to move him around and complement our other receivers and give us a chance to be more explosive offensively."

Chris Johnson is attending voluntary workouts with the Titans for the first time in his career. Johnson is trying to make a change after a down year in 2011. "Of course it motivates me because I want to do better than I did last year," Johnson said. "I always like to get better and better every year. I feel like I didn't get better last year. There are a lot of things that go into it, but I'm not the type that's going to make excuses."

The Titans and Falcons are among the teams that have expressed interest in veteran defender Antwan Odom, according to sources. Odom, who had become an elite pass rusher for the Bengals, missed all of last season due to a wrist injury.

The Titans have re-signed veteran defensive end Dave Ball. Ball has been with the Titans since 2008, playing in 51 games, making 203 tackles and sacking opposing quarterbacks 15.5 times while being credited with pressuring quarterbacks 43 times.
