Najee Harris: 'Didn't Even Know You Could Tie In The NFL'

Nov 15, 2021 8:50 AM

Najee Harris was surprised to learn Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions ended in a tie.

"I didn't even know you could tie in the NFL," Harris said. "In my mind, I was sitting on the bench saying, 'I've got another quarter to go.' But someone came to me and said, 'That's it.' I've never had a tie in my life before."

The game ended tied 16-16 after the Lions tried to pull off a series of laterals in a last-ditch effort at the end of overtime.

With the tie, the Lions avoided an 0-17 season, but they're still on a 13-game winless streak that dates back to last season.

Mike Tomlin Backs Taunting Rules: Must Clean Up Game

Nov 10, 2021 9:00 AM

Mike Tomlin approves of the NFL's increased emphasis on taunting penalties this season.

"We're just trying to clean our game up," Tomlin, a member of the NFL's competition committee, said. "We embrace the responsibility that comes with being the role models that we are.

"This game being played at the highest level, we understand that people who play at a lower level watch us and often mimic the things we do and how we conduct ourselves and just largely as a league competition committee specifically, there was a desire to improve in that area. That's been expressed to our guys. "

The Steelers have not been called for a taunting penalty this season, but they benefited from a critically timed flag in the 29-27 win against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

The Pittsburgh Steelers engaged in trade talks about Fletcher Cox with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of last week's trade deadline, according to a report.

The sides were ultimately unable to agree on value. The Steelers were looking for help at defensive tackle with Stephon Tuitt's return still unclear.

According to sources, the Eagles wanted at least a third-round pick for Cox, something the Steelers weren't willing to offer.

Chiefs Acquire Melvin Ingram III From Steelers

Nov 2, 2021 10:48 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded Melvin Ingram III to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth round pick.

Ingram, a former Pro Bowler who spent nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, signed a one-year deal with the Steelers prior to training camp as a rotational outside linebacker

The Chiefs and Steelers engaged in trade talks in the last couple of weeks, but initially the Steelers opted to hold on to their pass rusher in hopes they could find a suitor that wasn't in the AFC.
