2024 NFL Draft: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye Go 1-3

The Chicago Bears led off the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting Caleb Williams out of USC as expected with the Washington Commanders taking Jayden Daniels at No. 2 and the New England Patriots also taking a quarterback at No. 3 in Drake Maye.

There were a NFL draft record 23 offensive players selected in the first round:

Sources: Steelers Won't Pick Up Justin Field's Option

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not expected to pick up Justin Fields' $25 million fifth-year option, according to league sources.

A first-round draft pick in 2021, Fields was traded to the Steelers by the Chicago Bears last month for a conditional sixth-round pick.

Hines Ward To Coach ASU Wide Receivers

Hines Ward has been hired as Arizona State's next wide receivers coach, the school announced Sunday.

"I am truly honored to join Arizona State University football as wide receivers coach," Ward, the Super Bowl XL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion, said in a statement Sunday. "It's an incredible opportunity to share my passion for the game with a group of talented young men and help them reach their full potential. The culture and energy here in the Valley is special and I can't wait to be part of it."

Pat Freiermuth says Russell Wilson is already building a relationship with Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receivers.

"I was just down there in San Diego with him working out and throwing routes," the tight end said. "He's been great at talking to guys and starting to build that connection. He's a great guy. You can tell the drive and determination that he has to win and come to Pittsburgh and win some playoff games for us. I think he is going to fit our culture and locker room very well."

Freiermuth revealed that wide receivers Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson were also part of the session in Southern California.

Justin Fields had four teams on his radar when it became apparent that the Chicago Bears would trade him.

Fields landed with one of those teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the quarterback also had interested in joining the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings.
