Mike Tomlin Plans To Talk To JuJu Smith-Schuster About Logo Dancing

Dec 23, 2020 8:56 AM

Mike Tomlin plans to talk to JuJu Smith-Schuster about his antics after another opponent cited the wide receiver's pregame dances on their logos as motivation.

"I am aware of it," Tomlin said. "And I do plan to talk to JuJu. But we're professionals. I doubt any of those antics and things of that nature are legitimate motivating factors as you step into professional stadiums. It's about respect."

Earlier in the week, Bengals safety Vonn Bell said Smith-Schuster's pregame logo dances were "disrespectful" and the Bengals defense had to "hit him and let him know where he stands."

Bell then did just that on Monday night, hitting the wide receiver on third down in the first quarter and forcing a fumble that led to the Bengals' first touchdown of the night.

Mike Tomlin: 'We're Not A Good Football Group Right Now'

Dec 22, 2020 9:12 PM

Mike Tomlin isn't happy with how the Pittsburgh Steelers look amid a three-game losing streak.

The Steelers, who were once 11-0, suffered a surprising loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

"We've got a lot of work to do," Tomlin said. "We're not a good football group right now. And so we understand the consequences that come with that. We're working on a short week. We've got to be better than what we've been. And that's just the reality of it."

Once on track for the AFC's only playoff bye, the Steelers are now in danger of losing their hold on the AFC North title.

Mike Tomlin: Pittsburgh Didn't 'Deserve To Win' Against Washington

Dec 9, 2020 8:24 AM

Mike Tomlin is fine with the Pittsburgh Steelers' first loss of the season because he doesn't believe his team deserved to beat the Washington Football Team on Monday night.

"I live by the coaching creed, 'If you can't get a yard, you don't deserve to win,'" Tomlin said. "That was the case for us in this game. We had several sequences where we had an opportunity if we gained a yard, it was significant in terms of the development of the outcome of the game, but we were unsuccessful."

Averaging just 1.5 yards per carry, the Steelers had only 21 rushing yards in the loss.

"If you can't get a yard in our game, you don't deserve to win," Tomlin said. "That's the nuts and bolts elements of football, the physicality element of football. We didn't meet that challenge, so we have some work to do in that area."

Eric Ebron: I'd Rather Lose Check Than Play Three Games In 12 Days

Dec 4, 2020 8:54 AM

Eric Ebron was left with a bad taste in his mouth after the Pittsburgh Steelers had their Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens rescheduled three times.

The Steelers will end up playing three games in 12 days due to the movement of kickoffs.

"We put all of these stipulations in place," Ebron said on Uninterrupted’s 17 Weeks podcast. "Everybody signed up and said, 'Ok, this is gonna be cool.' Nobody thought you would play three games in 12 days. Think about that. That's us. We play [Wednesday], we play Monday [against Washington], and we play Sunday [at Buffalo]. Oh my God. ... They're trying to see us fail, bro. Welcome to the National Football League."

If the NFL had canceled the Ravens-Steelers game, no players from either team would have gotten paid. It sounds like Ebron wouldn't have minded.

"I don't care about a game check," Ebron said. "I'm sorry, I know there are people who don't make the amount of money I do. I know that. So what? I'm sure they don't want to play three games in 12 days either. They'd much rather, you know, lose a game check than risk them not making a check the next year because they’re hurt."

Steelers Fear Bud Dupree Suffered Torn ACL

Dec 3, 2020 8:46 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers believe linebacker Bud Dupree suffered a torn ACL in Wednesday's win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Dupree injured his left knee on a noncontact play in the second half. Further testing is expected to confirm the injury on Thursday.

"I think it was very quiet, very sad, very low, just because having our fellow teammate going down, Bud, and not knowing what's going on over there," wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster said, describing the Steelers' locker room after the game. "But that's something that, you always pray for everybody to be safe and have a healthy game."

Ravens Have Two More Positives; Game Still On

Dec 2, 2020 8:27 AM

The Baltimore Ravens arrived in Pittsburgh on Tuesday night and Wednesday's game against the Steelers is still on, according to sources.

The Ravens had two more positive COVID-19 tests before departing Tuesday.

The results are "not unexpected and not a concern for the game," the source said.

The Ravens will be tested again Wednesday before the game with point-of-care tests that return results within 30 minutes. They have had 10 straight days of positive tests as they prepare to play the undefeated Steelers in a game that has been postponed three times.
