Bill Parcells made his first public remarks since ceding control of the Dolphins to Jeff Ireland on Thursday during a conference call to mark his inclusion in the Giants? new Ring of Honor that will be unveiled Sunday night. His vague comments will do little to convince anyone that he will not soon leave the Dolphins, where he is now a consultant, entirely. ?I am not a sit-around-the-fireplace guy,? Parcells said. ?I don?t know. I am not certain about it. We will see what happens when the time comes. I know I want to do something even if it is not day to day or something like that, I know I want to do something. I don?t like sitting around. I like to get up and go do something. We will figure it out when the time comes.?

Darrelle Revis will not play for the Jets on Sunday against the Dolphins, Rex Ryan said after practice Wednesday. "We felt that we might as well let you know now that Revis is not to where he can play," Ryan said of Revis, who aggravated a tight left hamstring in Sunday's win over the Patriots. "He's itching to get back, but it's too risky of a proposition to put him out there," Ryan said.

Dolphins running back Ricky Williams doesn't think the NFL will deal with a lockout when the current collective bargaining agreement expires. Williams, who is Miami's player representative, is optimistic the NFL Players Association and the league will reach a collective bargaining agreement without a labor stoppage. "Personally, I have a positive outlook," Williams said Wednesday. "I think that we're going to come to an agreement. At least I hope that there's not going to be a lockout. I believe that we're being reasonable, and there are certain things that are important to us and we're going to fight for. But I think when it comes down to it, there's going to be an agreement reached."

Free-agent linebacker Adalius Thomas visited with the Dolphins on Tuesday after meeting with the Jets the day before. Thomas was cut by the Patriots earlier this year, three seasons after signing a big-money free-agent deal.

Bill Parcells is "disappointed" with the development of young quarterback Chad Henne, according to a source. Parcells ceded full control of the Dolphins to general manager Jeff Ireland a few days ago. While Parcells isn't happy with Henne, his feelings had nothing to do with the decision to give control of the club to Ireland.

Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills because of a groin injury. Crowder has been sidelined since Aug. 17 with the issue. He had 51 tackles, one sack and an interception in 2009.

Bill Parcells is turning over control of the Dolphins to general manager Jeff Ireland. Parcells will retain a role in the organization as a daily consultant. Miami announced the move in a three-sentence statement Tuesday, five days before the start of the season. "This was the intent of the structure put in place in the past," the Dolphins said.

Dolphins tackle Jake Long is wearing a left knee brace as the team begins its final week of preparation for the season opener against the Bills. Long, who has started every game in his first two NFL seasons, hurt his knee in Miami's final preseason game Thursday at Dallas.

The Dolphins have placed cornerback Will Allen on the injured reserve, ending hope that he'd make a comeback from knee surgery last month. Allen had started all 43 games he spent with Miami over the last four seasons. "I'm not going to get into the specific reason why we did any of these things," coach Tony Sparano said, "but I just think that it's something that had to be done right now."

In a move that was widely expected, the Dolphins cut quarterback Pat White on Saturday. Miami drafted White with the 44th overall pick in 2009 out of West Virginia. He was 0-for-5 through the air and rushed for 81 yards in his rookie season.
