The St. Louis Rams have decided not to hire Rob Ryan as defensive coordinator.

The Rams will continue searching for a new defensive coordinator.

Ryan held the same position last season with the Cowboys.

Rob Ryan has reached an agreement to become defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams.

Ryan said he expected to be out of work "for like five minutes" after he was fired by the Dallas Cowboys. 

Brian Schottenheimer will interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars for their head coaching vacancy.

Schottenheimer was offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams in 2012.

Suspended defensive coordinator Gregg Williams won't return to the Rams next season, according to sources.

The move was reported earlier by NFL Network.

The Rams also let go of Williams' son, Blake, who served as the linebackers coach this season.
