Jovan Belcher has signed his restricted free agent tender with the Chiefs, which was at the second-round level and will pay him $1,972,000 for the 2012 season.
Kansas City announced that Belcher had signed his tender Thursday.

Le’Ron McClain has agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the San Diego Chargers.
The back is a physical runner who has split time between running back and fullback. He rushed for 902 yards on 232 carries for Baltimore in 2008, though he spent more time as a lead blocker from 2009-11 and is expected to play fullback for the Chargers. McClain played for the Chiefs last season and averaged 18.8 catches per season over the last four years.
McClain is the fourth former Ravens player to sign with San Diego since 2011, joining Antwan Barnes, Jared Gaither and Jarret Johnson.
Peyton Hillis To Meet With Chiefs
The Chiefs are set to host Peyton Hillis for a visit this week.
Kansas City offensive coordinator Brian Daboll ran the Cleveland offense in 2010, when Hillis emerged from the shadows with 1,177 yards and nine touchdowns.
Chiefs, Vikings After John Carlson
John Carlson will visit with the Vikings on Wednesday at the team's headquarters.
The tight end has also lined up a visit with the Chiefs.

Both teams wanted to meet with Manning, but he declined. Manning met with the Broncos and Cardinals over the weekend and a sit down with the Dolphins may be on the horizon.

The Chiefs are the first team to make a formal contract offer to Peyton Manning.
Brandon Spano, a radio host in Denver, says the team made the complete contract offer on Thursday.
