Report: Anderson To Stay In Cleveland
Derek Anderson has reportedly agreed to terms on a multi-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, a source close to the negotiations told the Associated Press.
The contract hasn't been finalized but Anderson is all but off the market just a few hours after the NFL's free agent season began.
Report: Browns Offer Anderson 3-Year, $20M Deal
The Cleveland Browns increased their offer to free agent quarterback Derek Anderson on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com.
The new offer is worth $20 million over three years, with half of the money guaranteed according to a report in the Columbus Dispatch.
The deadline to tender restricted free agents is Friday, but the Dispatch reported that a deal could officially be announced between the Browns and Anderson as early as Wednesday afternoon.
Report: Winslow Has Fourth Surgery
Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow has had a fourth surgery on his knee, according to numerous media reports.
Winslow's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed the report on Saturday.
"He didn't have to do [the scope]," Rosenhaus told several Ohio media outlets. "He just had some scar tissue removed. It will make him a better player. It wasn't necessary. That's why he was able to play in the Pro Bowl. So I don't think Kellen's health is a factor and we hope to get a deal done with the team."

A source in the Browns' front office has informed RealGM's Jeff Risdon that the only way Derek Anderson leaves is if they get a top 10 pick and at least two other picks in the top 100.
With such a high price tag, Anderson is virtually assured of remaining in Cleveland in 2008.

The Associated Press has learned that Lewis will officially sign once the contract language has been completed.
Lewis was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next week. But the Browns didn?t want to risk the running back after he rushed for more than 1,300 yards last season.

The Cleveland Browns and quarterback Derek Anderson are close to agreeing to terms on a new deal, according to The Plain Dealer.
"Talks have been a little more frequent in recent days," Cleveland GM Phil Savage told The Dealer in an e-mail. "It seems that the three-year deal is becoming more the focus. We've had pretty good dialogue and will continue over the [NFL scouting] combine."

Winslow Says He Will Have Knee Surgery
Browns tight end Kellen Winslow will undergo offseason knee surgery, according to ESPN.com.
"I'm definitely going to have a surgery done on my knee," Winslow said according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer. "My shoulder might be strong enough ... I'm just really worried about my knee. Your legs are your life. I need my knee."
Winslow has had multiple surgeries on his knee since he injured it in a motorcycle accident in 2005.
