Fewer Reps In Training Camp For Ray Lewis This Year

Oct 7, 2014 1:27 PM

The Ravens' plan for MLB Ray Lewis might include fewer practice reps in training camp. Lewis, 31, has been bothered by injuries the past few years, and some of that could be a byproduct of his age and playing style.

Ravens President: Ravens Window Is Two Years

Oct 7, 2014 1:27 PM

Team president Dick Cass estimated the Ravens' window of opportunity to win a Super Bowl is two years. According to Cass, the overspending won't catch up to the Ravens until 2008, when cap issues likely will force them to rebuild again. "When you go over the cap for three years like we have, we probably can only go one more year," Cass said. "Unless we restructure contracts, we won't be in a situation in '08 that we were in '02 - but it will be tight."

McNair Would Receive $11 Million To Play For Ravens

Oct 7, 2014 1:26 PM

With talks of retirement mute, Steve McNair is not poised to garner a pay raise for 2006. If quarterback Steve McNair ends up joining the Ravens, he'll collect more than he's scheduled to make with the Titans this fall. The contract worked out between the Ravens and McNair's agent earlier this week would pay McNair a signing bonus of $11 million, along with a base salary of $1 million in 2006, according to the NFL Network. This is compared to the $9 million McNair is scheduled to earn with the Titans in 2006.

Ravens Could Add McNair

Oct 7, 2014 1:25 PM

The Baltimore Ravens did not use the NFL draft to find a quarterback to compete with Kyle Boller, but they could add Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair in the coming days. McNair's agent, Bus Cook, told the Associated Press on Sunday he expected the 11-year veteran to be either released by Tennessee or traded to the Ravens within the next day. The Titans took Texas quarterback Vince Young with the third overall pick in the draft, and they would like McNair to restructure his contract (he is due a base salary of $9 million this season). "Steve is a Tennessee Titan," Baltimore General Manager Ozzie Newsome said. "That has not changed. Have I had a little dialogue with Floyd [Reese, the Titans' general manager]? Yes. Very little."
