Ravens Rout Dolphins To Lock Up AFC's Top Seed

Dec 31, 2023 6:18 PM

In a game and performance reminiscent of 2019, Lamar Jackson looked like the unquestioned NFL MVP as the Ravens clinched the AFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

With Jackson recording a perfect passer rating (158.3) and throwing five touchdown passes, the Ravens routed the Miami Dolphins 56-19 on Sunday to secure a first-round bye and home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs.

John Harbaugh: Lamar Jackson Had MVP Performance

Dec 26, 2023 11:15 AM

Lamar Jackson cemented his MVP candidacy with the Baltimore Ravens' 33-19 win at the San Francisco 49ers. Brock Purdy entered the game as the slight favorite, but he had four costly interceptions.

"I thought Lamar had an MVP performance," John Harbaugh said. "It takes a team to create a performance like that, but it takes a player to play at that level -- to play at an MVP level -- it takes a player to play that way. And Lamar was all over the field doing everything."

"He can do everything," Zay Flowers said. "You [saw] it [Monday night]. He ran it; he threw it; he led the team. That's the MVP. You lead your team, you have the best record in the NFL, and he just comes out and continues to come out and do what he [does] game in and game out even though people [say], 'He can't do this. He can't do that,' and he comes out and proves them wrong every time."

Entering Monday night, Purdy was the betting favorite for NFL MVP and Jackson was second, according to ESPN BET. After the game, Jackson became the frontrunner for MVP (-180) with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Ravens Feel 'Disrespected' Ahead Of Showdown With Niners

Dec 21, 2023 8:31 AM

The Baltimore Ravens are underdogs heading into Monday's showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, just the second time this season they haven't been favored.

The Ravens and Niners are tied for the best record in the NFL at 11-3.

"We feel a little disrespected by that," Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton said. "I feel like we are the best team in the league, and we have an opportunity in front of the country to show it."

The Ravens are 5.5-point underdogs, according to ESPN Bet.

This would be the second-largest underdog role of Lamar Jackson's six-year career.

Jackson and Baltimore were a seven-point underdog at the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. The Ravens lost to the Chiefs 27-24 in overtime in what was Jackson's fourth career NFL start.

"I don't want them to pick us," Jackson said. "I like being the underdog. I believe we play better when we're doubted and [when] people aren't choosing us to win the game. I feel like we play better all the time, so just do it all the way to February. That's all I ask."

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell Likely Out For Season

Dec 18, 2023 10:38 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have lost another key offensive player.

They clinched a playoff berth in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but saw running back Keaton Mitchell suffer a likely season-ending injury.

Mitchell, an undrafted rookie, was tripped up by safety Andrew Wingard, causing his left leg to bend awkwardly after he landed on it.

"It looks like he won't be back for the rest of this season," John Harbaugh said.

Baltimore has also lost J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) and Mark Andrews (ankle) to significant injuries.
