Seven Teams Alive For AFC's Wild Card Berths

Sep 14, 2014 6:38 AM

With just one weekend left in the regular season there are seven teams fighting for the AFC's two Wild Card berths. The Colts and Chargers have locked down the first and second seeds, respectively, and will have first-round byes. The Patriots and Bengals have each won their division and at 10-5 Sunday's outcomes will decide which team wins the third seed. Currently, the Broncos and Jets hold the Wild Card spots, but the Ravens, Texans, Steelers, Dolphins and Jaguars are all still alive. Even if Denver wins, they would lose tiebreakers to Jets and Ravens if both New York and Baltimore win as well. The Jets can clinch a playoff berth if they win. Baltimore controls their own destiny as well. A victory gives them a tie-breaker edge over Denver even if the Broncos win. The Texans need to win and see the two of the three teams ahead of them (Denver, New York and Baltimore) lose. The Steelers would get in with a win and a loss by two of the three teams above them (Houston, New York and Baltimore). In order for the Dolphins to make the postseason they need to win and see the Jets, Ravens, Texans and Jaguars lose. The Jaguars have the lowest odds. They need to win and watch at least four of the six teams ahead of them lose.

Oher began his college career at guard before moving to left tackle as a sophomore. Jared Gaither is currently playing left tackle, but could move to right tackle by 2011. "What we saw was a talented individual that had quickness, change of direction, balance and body control," offensive line coach John Matsko said of Oher.
