James Conner: Cardinals RB Tandem 'Can Be One Of The Best'

Jun 22, 2021 9:39 AM

Entering his first season with the team, James Conner sees a lot of potential with the Arizona Cardinals.

Conner will share a backfield with Chase Edmonds.

"I just see us as a tandem, and I think we can be one of the best in the league," Conner said. "He's been waiting for an opportunity, even though he has the body of work and a resume, but to show more. I know he's anxious to show more, I'm anxious to show. With both of us together back there with K-1 (Kyler Murray), weapons on the outside, interior line, tackles, everybody. There's opportunity here. Me and Chase, we gonna feed off each other and keep this thing rolling."

Bruce Arians: 'If You Want To Go Back To Normal, Get Vaccinated'

Jun 11, 2021 8:48 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted a clinic to increase vaccine accessibility among the team's players, personnel and family members this week.

Bruce Arians said his goal is to provide his players with a chance to get vaccinated if they so choose, with the hopes that most of his team will be vaccinated.

"There's going to be a long line over there right now," Arians said. "I better have a (long line) after today. We were pretty short up until now, but hopefully we have a pretty good line today."

Tampa Bay is making vaccines available to "whoever wants to get one." Vaccination pace among players remains a talking point across the league.

"If you want to go back to normal, get vaccinated," Arians said Thursday. "Eighty-five percent is what we're shooting for, and I think everybody is tired of meeting out here and eating outside and doing all those things we had to do last year. It's still a personal choice, but I don't see a reason not to be vaccinated."

Kyler Murray Still 'Open' To Playing Baseball

Jun 13, 2021 12:56 PM

Kyler Murray hasn't completely closed the door on his baseball career.

"I still hold on to the three-sport title," said Murray, who was discussing his gaming exploits. "If the time came where I got to do what I wanted to do, which, I don't know, but I'm leaving it open. I think I can still play, for sure, but we'll add the gaming on to that. Don't shortchange me, please."

Murray is the only athlete to ever be selected in the first round of the MLB and NFL drafts. The Oklahoma product was scheduled to report to spring training with the Oakland Athletics in 2019 but ultimately opted to drop baseball upon winning the Heisman Trophy and becoming a top quarterback prospect.

"I know everybody around (the organization) probably feels different about it," Murray said. "But me personally, I played the game my whole life. If I ever had the opportunity, for sure, I would definitely go for it. What are we talking about? I'm sure anyone asking me about it would (take that opportunity) too. I'm not trying to start anything. I'm just talking."
