Marcus Mariota has been ruled out by the Tennessee Titans for the second week in a row as he deals with an injured knee.

Zach Mettenberger will start in place of Mariota.

Olivier Vernon's low hit on Marcus Mariota was considered dirty and intentional by the Tennessee Titans.

"I think it was done with the idea of trying to hurt our QB and that's (bulls---) football," said Ken Whisenhunt.

Vernon crept up behind Mariota after a pass and went in quite low on him.

Mariota said after the game that Vernon apologized to him for the hit. Vernon told reporters after the game that his low hit on Mariota wasn't intentional and that he isn't a dirty player.

Mariota will undergo X-rays on his knee.
