Vikings Sign Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with 1st-round draft choice RB Adrian Peterson (#7 overall) from Oklahoma. The Vikings have now signed/agreed to terms with all 8 of their draft picks from the 2007 NFL Draft. Peterson was a 3-time All-Big 12 1st-team honoree and finished his collegiate career ranked 3rd in OU history with 4,045 yards and 4th with 41 rushing TDs. In 2004, he was named Associated Press 1st-team All-America, the first Sooner true freshman to earn the honor. Peterson set the school record that season with 1,925 rushing yards as a freshman, breaking Billy Sims? record of 1,896 in 1978, and finished as the runner-up for the 2004 Heisman Trophy. In his final season at Oklahoma in 2006, Peterson broke the 1,000-yard mark despite missing 7 games with a collarbone injury. He broke the 100-yard mark in 6 of 7 games he played in on the season.

Disorderly Conduct Case Resolved Against Vikes' Griffin

A disorderly conduct case against Vikings cornerback Cedric Griffin stemming from an incident at a downtown nightclub when he allegedly refused to pull up his saggy pants was resolved Thursday, a city spokesman and his attorney said. The case was continued for dismissal, which means the misdemeanor charge will be dropped after one year as long as Griffin commits no similar violations, city spokesman Matt Laible said.

Vikings Sign OL Adam O'Connor

The Vikings signed free agent offensive lineman Adam O'Connor on Tuesday. O'Connor started all 10 games he played for Hamburg in NFL Europe last season, helping the SeaDevils to the World Bowl championship last month. Less than a week later, the NFL decided to fold the league after 16 years of competition. O'Connor was signed by the Panthers as a rookie free agent in 2006 and spent time on their practice squad last season. He played defensive end at William & Mary, where he was a three-year starter, but was switched to offensive line when he reached the pros.
