Tua Tagovailoa is confident in his status with the Miami Dolphins after having a discussion with Brian Flores.

Reports persist that the Dolphins are interested in a trade for Deshaun Watson.

"I don't not feel wanted," Tagovailoa said. "That's what I could say."

Following Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Tagovailoa said he and Flores had conversations about the reports and that Flores said he reaffirmed Tagovailoa's status as Miami's starting quarterback.

Beyond that, Tagovailoa said he largely ignores any outside noise.

"I really don't think about it," he said. "The only time I'm really hearing about it, like I've said before, is if [the communications staff] is kind of telling me what's going on within the rumors or if my agent calls me. That's really when I hear it. Other than that, I don't really hear it."

The Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans have agreed to the compensation involved in a Deshaun Watson trade, according to a report.

The trade has been approved by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, but the sticking point is that he wants the quarterback's legal issues resolved before it's executed.

The only realistic way for that to occur prior to the Nov. 2 trade deadline would be if Watson settled his 22 civil suits.

The Miami Dolphins have been the team most strongly linked to Watson for months, but the Carolina Panthers have now emerged as another candidate. The Panthers traded second-, fourth- and sixth-round draft picks to the New York Jets this past April for Sam Darnold, who has struggled badly in recent weeks.

The Dolphins don't want to bid against themselves for Watson. Tua Tagovailoa almost certainly would be traded as part of Miami's package to the Houston Texans. 

Watson initially requested a trade from the Texans this past January, but his NFL future is uncertain as he faces nearly two dozen 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. 

Deshaun Watson has been inactive for the Houston Texans in every game this season, but a change may be coming.

The Texans could complete a trade with the Miami Dolphins involving Watson this week, according to a report.

The trade deadline is November 2.
